I went on a 4 hour hike up Mt. Ryosen set up by Date City Hall. It was a nice climb that was relatively easy. "Easy" as in a low difficulty level, not "easy" as in it was a gentle walk up a barley-there slope.
This is a view of the first outlook we stopped at, about 30 minutes into the hike.
We started the hike at 10 am and took a short break every 20 minutes or so.
At this outlook, there was an option to climb down a ladder and look out, but I chose to stay on the path.
From here, the trail was more difficult to climb because the path was narrow and one had to navigate up steep rocks.
We stopped for lunch at the Ryozen Castle remains and waited for the other two groups to show up. (I was part of A team that left first).
Besides the outlooks, the majority of the trail was under the shade of trees, so even though it was 30 C, it did not feel too hot.
The last outlook required you to climb up a ladder to get to it. This oulook was about 1/3 of the way up from the start of the trail.
This is me at the last outlook hanging on to a rock so I didn't trip and fall. That would have been very bad.
After the hike, we stopped for ice cream. It was delicious!
